Web 2.0 Learning Platform

Main message:
E-learning is one of the leading tools for people worldwide to learn, teach, and communicate. Programs such as SCORM are beneficial ways to organize some of the information available online. Learning and information is changing at a very fast rate, and this is shown on the internet.

Supporting messages:
-Thinking of web learning as cognitive
-The correct answer to a question, or information, can be right one day, and then change the next day
-Learning can be done systematically, similar to how computers work
-E-learning has become a main part of teaching in schools today
-Standards need to be set on information in order for there to be productive learning
-SCORM can be useful, but has some obstacles that need to be worked on

Examples:
-Grid showing how learning has changed from the 18th century, to the 19th century, to the 20th century
-Organizations created to create standards for online learning (one example from the article: SCORM)
-BYUH gradually offering more classes online and using sources online, and the 3 part process to make this happen
-Obstacles of SCORM listed, including accessibility, limited instructors, and multiple versions of information needed for wide range of access
-SCORM is mostly one-way, and needs to have more added to have learners enter input into the system

I feel that the internet is becoming a widely used source for information and learning. I feel that having programs such as SCORM are a beneficial way of organizing data for web users to use and learn from, which can be useful in many occupations. I think I could apply the view of staying updated with the internet and learning through mediums available online for my own personal professional growth.
